"Curtain Call" puts a face on rural theaters

My good friend and fellow journo-musician Bryan Russo and I collaborated on this project, which we dubbed "Curtain Call." We visit a handful of old theaters across the Delmarva Peninsula, and find out how they're working to stay alive, and the challenges of drumming up interest in small-town arts programs. Bryan, also an accomplished singer/songwriter, wraps up each visit by playing a set of original music in the theatre.

Here is the first of six episodes we've done so far. Bryan is the on-camera host. I was behind the scenes as cameraman and editor.

This is a very low-budget project; I shot this on my iPhone 5S and edited on iMovie and Adobe Premiere. But we're still proud of the final product because it still tells people's stories. For more episodes, you can follow the links on Bryan's YouTube channel.
